SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Spartanburg 911 put out a Facebook post in response to a video that is circulating on social media regarding a call where a dispatcher appears to refuse service to a caller.
The video shows a caller reporting a suspicious man outside their home.
Officials gave their apologies to the caller and expressed their assurance that authorities are concerned about their safety and well-being as well as that of all county residents.
Officials said, “Ensuring the safety of our community is our highest priority, and we are committed to responding to all calls for service with professionalism and urgency.”
According to officials, a telecommunicator dispatched an officer to a scene which the officer cleared as they were unable to locate anyone. However, a follow-up response did not occur after the caller provided additional information.
