ONALASKA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The Coulee Region is taking part in a national program helping people with early to mid-stage memory loss. The program is called Spark and is run at Clearwater Farm in Onalaska. Spark has programs designed to engage participants through stimulating conversations, peer support, and creative activities.
Program directors say the goal of Spark is for people who have dementia or Alzheimer’s to have a new community to go to, “Participants get to connect with care partners, or they also get to connect with other people in the community that are experiencing the same things that they are, and so they can help build a community outside of this program so they can have people to go have lunch with, maybe go on a walk together.”
