PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A Southeast Texas organization is helping make sure kids in the community can have a joyful Christmas this year.
Augusta’s Angels hosted their annual Angel Tree Christmas Party at Life Church Saturday morning.
The organization supports children with incarcerated and deceased parents.
Through Augusta’s Angels, incarcerated parents are able to give their children a gift and handwritten notes to make sure their presence is felt during the holidays.
While children with deceased parents receive a gift in loving memory of their parent.
Founder and president, Thira Simon, says she knows all to well what it’s like to feel the absence of a loved one during the holidays.
