Southaven leaders update community on developments, including new skate park [Video]

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (WMC) – Southaven leaders shared new information on projects and developments going on in the city.

In an alderman meeting Tuesday, the city gave many updates as listed below.

The repairs to the kennels at the Animal Shelter, preparing for an upcoming expansion that will enhance its facilities and better serve the area’s animals in need.

The city was awarded the Request for Proposal to American Ramp Company to design a new Bike Track and Skate Park, marking the first step toward revitalizing this beloved recreational space.

The new skate park development will be in Cherry Valley Park.

A residential treatment facility was also approved for construction on Marathon Way between Airways and Elmore Road.

The city of Southaven said this facility will provide essential resources and care for those who need it most.
