South Dakota Special Olympics Heroes Pull [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Several of South Dakota’s first responding agencies teamed up to raise funds for the Special Olympics Sunday.

The event is called the Heroes Pull.

Teams up 10 work together to pull a Sioux Falls fire truck– and a highway patrol vehicle.

It’s tug-of-war style– whoever pulls the other team across the line wins.

However, the real winners are the athletes– as each team also raises at least $500 to help support the cost of competing in the games.

More than 2,700 athletes from 50 communities compete in the South Dakota Special Olympics ever year.
