MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A special tailgate experience at the McDonald’s on Hillcrest Road in Mobile today.
Customers who went through the drive-thru may have noticed some South Alabama Jags behind the counter. College athletes at South partnered with the Ronald McDonald House to raise money for the organization.
The Ronald McDonald House is a charity that gives families a temporary place to stay while they have a child in the hospital.
The Jags encouraged customers to round up to help fund the work the charity does every day.
“We have families from Baldwin, Conecuh, Clarke county and while their children are hospitalized, they don’t want to go back and forth and so they are able to stay with us and stay feet away from the hospital so they can visit their kid at any time of the day,” said Clarissa Knowles, development and community engagement coordinator with the Ronald McDonald House.
