Son kills father in Hartfords first homicide of 2025 [Video]

The stabbing attack happened just after 11 a.m. Saturday outside the Travel Inn Motel on Weston Street. Police described it as a “domestic incident.”

HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford’s first homicide of 2025 occurred Saturday morning outside the Travel Inn Motel on Weston Street when a son stabbed his father multiple times, according to Hartford police.

The fatal attack occurred in a black Nissan parked outside of the motel just after 11 a.m., as was reported by Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert during a press conference Saturday evening.

“It’s a domestic incident, an unfortunate incident and a violent incident,” Boisvert said. “We have all the individuals involved. We’re pretty confident we know what happened. It was clearly a domestic incident between two individuals and nobody else at this point.”

According to Boisvert, the victim was 78-year-old Vincent Hokim, of Middletown. The suspect is 49-year-old Raybin Hokim, who has been charged with murder. Hokim’s place of …
