Some residents in Laplace still without power due to Francine [Video]

Recovery efforts are still underway for many residents and business owners in Laplace due to the damage they received from Hurricane Francine. As of Monday afternoon, Entergy crews were still working to restore power for a few dozen residents. When the storm hit Laplace, it initially knocked out power for about 14,000 customers. Parish leaders said the majority of those people have had their power restored, but there are a few dozen still in the dark and there is lots of damage to undo. Power lines have been destroyed, homes boarded up, and bulk trash is being collected. It’s part of the aftermath following the ramifications of Hurricane Francine. “We still have about 30 or so customers without power, that’s due to some access issues that Entergy is facing,” Jaclyn Hotard said.
