MOLALLA, Ore. — A student was taken into custody after a social media post that included a specific threat to Molalla River Middle School caused the district to cancel classes Friday, the Molalla Police Department reported.

The decision was made Thursday to cancel Friday’s classes across the district, according to a letter sent to the district community from the superintendent, who said the district and Molalla police made the decision together after learning of the social media threat. The district said it worked with police to assess and address the threat.
