Social media law regarding minors to take effect soon in Florida [Video]

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A sweeping new law is set to take effect on Jan. 1 that would block some teens from certain websites and would require age verification on sites where content could be considered harmful to minors.

The Free Speech Coalition (FSC), representing the adult entertainment industry, has filed a lawsuit against the law. The group argues that its requirements are unworkable and could force platforms to block Florida users altogether. This is in addition to a lawsuit filed in October on similar grounds by a trade group for Big Tech companies like Google and Meta.
