Smith County commissioners honored for their service as their terms conclude [Video]

TYLER, Texas — The terms of two Smith County commissioners came to an end Tuesday. 

“We are losing a lot of history when he walks out that door,” Smith County Judge Neal Franklin said. “I wish you the very best in all your future endeavors, whatever they may be.”

“I wish you the very best in your new role as Bullard’s new city manager,” Franklin said. “I know you’ll do great.”

Frederick called it an honor to served as Pct. 1 commissioner. 

“I appreciate the work this court has done,” she said, noting she’s proud of the efforts to help the mental health issues in the community and with the improvements made to the Smith County Jail.

Smith County Clerk Karen Phillips praised her husband for his working as county commissioner.
