Sledding hill improvements planned for Baird Park in Aberdeen [Video]

ABERDEEN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – In an effort to increase wintertime activities in the area, the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Aberdeen class has ambitions to upgrade the snow sledding hill at Baird Park.

The group has made significant progress toward accomplishing that goal. Community leaders and the Parks & Recreation Department hope to improve facilities with snow-making and snow grooming equipment as well as a parking area upgrade.

The $240,000 project’s origins happened in 2016, but there were several roadblocks until the 2024 Leadership team took the project on.
