Skyview HS honors junior who died suddenly before Vancouver football game [Video]

VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) – The community of Skyview High School in Vancouver honored William Sloan before their Saturday football game, after the high school junior died unexpectedly this week.

William was part of the football team, and so before their game, his family, team and school honored and remembered him.

Bill Sloan was William’s father.

“These people out here were his brothers, and I didn’t know how many friends he had until he was gone,” Bill Sloan said.

It was a day to celebrate and remember in Stayton on Thursday, with the ribbon cutting of the new Ty Hart Memorial Fitness Center at Stayton High School.

According to Skyview High, the 16-year-old died in his sleep Thursday morning from natural causes.
