SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – A special program took place in Sioux Falls on Monday to put those who have served our country in the spotlight.
The Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce‘s Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, in partnership with local veterans’ organizations, hosted a Veterans Day program at South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance, Inc.
For veterans like Fred Kuil, who served in the Army for nearly four years during the Vietnam War, being thanked for fulfilling his duty is something he’ll never get used to.
“Some people think it‘s real important. I did my duty. I didn’t really think I did anything special, but I do thank all the people that thank me all the time,” said Kuil.
However, the appreciation Kuil is shown by strangers doesn’t go unnoticed.
