Sioux Falls officials mark completion of third phase of River Greenway project [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Sioux Falls city officials and the Parks and Recreation Department celebrated a big milestone in the River Greenway project on Wednesday.

Phase III of the project includes pedestrian access and recreation opportunities along the west side of the Big Sioux River and upper reach of the falls.

“It is one more asset honestly to our community that we can sell to people from all over the world. This is a very walkable city, a very friendly city and this is just one more aspect of people being able to come here and just relax and enjoy their time here and don’t have to be busy all the time,” said Nichelle Lund, senior sales manager for Canopy by Hilton.

The new improvements provide a direct connection to the Steel District development and to the future Jacobson Plaza, which is set to open in 2025.
