Sioux Falls native finding hope in community during LA wildfires [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – As of Friday, at least eleven people have died as major wildfires rage across Los Angeles County and more than 150,000 people are under evacuation orders.

As many as 10,000 buildings have been destroyed by the Eaton Fire and the Palisades Fire, which could end up being the costliest in US history.

Amidst the uncertainty and the chaos of the wildfires, Dakota News Now continues to hear from residents in the area with South Dakota connections.

Back in 2017, Breanna Pierce and her husband Nick moved out to Los Angeles County. Their family of four lives in Arcadia and they were only two miles from one of the biggest fires.
