Sign up for a library card and win prizes [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – September is Library Card Sign Up Month and the theme this year is “Let the Library transform you!”

The Rapid City Public Library is offering kids the chance to give their ideas, through a coloring contest, about how they’d like to transform the library. There will also be places for people to write about how the library transformed them or what they love about the library.

Laurinda Tapper, Public Relations Coordinator for the Rapid City Public Library, says that having a library card can help transform someone’s life. “There is so much that the library offers. It’s more than books. We have events for the community, access to computers, 3D printers and also provide notary services free of charge,” Tapper said.
