Sierra Vista City Council Member Gregory Johnson passes at age 78 [Video]

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Sierra Vista City Council Member Gregory Johnson passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at age 78. Johnson served on City Council since Jan. 1, 2021.

Johnson was a United States Marine Corps veteran, businessman, lawyer, professor, hearing officer, and public servant. Before running for City Council, he served on various tourism and hospitality boards, chambers of commerce boards, and economic development and zoning commissions.

Johnson was a staunch advocate for fiscal responsibility, but also believed in making strategic investments in our community that helped spur economic growth. He was outspoken and passionate about the causes he believed in, and unwavering in his commitment to our residents.
