Cellphone ownership among teenagers in the U.S., along with average amount of time spent on their phones, have dramatically increased in recent years, with 11-to-14-year-olds spending at least nine hours a day in front of a mobile screen. Now, a senior medical figure is warning it’s contributing to a mental health crisis, and he’s urging politicians to limit social media use for younger people. Benji Hyer reports.
