SHOPPERS at Lowe’s are furious over a checkout process that they fear will become the standard moving forward.
Some threatened to boycott the retailer over recent negative shopping experiences where self-service was the only option.
A customer claimed earlier this month that her local Lowe’s store had a line of cashiered registers closed.
Instead, self-checkout was the only way customers like herself could pay for items and leave — a controversial move.
Shoppers at many retail giants have been vocal about either their liking or disliking of self-checkout for years, and typically both cashiered lanes and kiosks are kept open for their preference.
Still, many retailers have adjusted over the past year to craft checkout areas that seemed to favor the kiosks.
This particular Lowe’s store was seemingly one of them.
