A TARGET customer said they would no longer shop at the store due to its limit on who can use self-checkout.
Target imposed a 10-items-or-fewer limit on self-checkout at certain stores earlier this year.
The retailer piloted the limit at 200 stores and found that self-checkout was twice as fast for shoppers with this change.
Target also promised to open more traditional lanes staffed by employees for customers with bigger hauls.
But that isn’t the experience customers have had.
“Hey Target, if self-checkout is ten items or less, open up more than one register,” wrote Josh (@reallivesports) on X.
“I’ve been waiting to check out for an hour. I’m done with this business.”
