Shelter temporarily closed due to staffing shortages [Video]

The emergency shelter at Women & Children’s Horizons, Inc is closed temporarily because of a staffing shortage.

The mission of the local nonprofit, one of the oldest incorporated shelters in Wisconsin, is to provide support, shelter, education, training and healing services to victims of sexual and domestic abuse, their families and the community.

Kenosha County posted a statement on social media about the matter.

“In the meantime, the agency has reached out to community partners and asked for assistance,” the statement reads. The organization’s Help Line remains available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for referrals to other domestic violence shelters and resources. The Kenosha County Crisis Line is also available at 262-657-7188 for those in need of assistance.
