SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is working to recruit more officers from the military.
Through a new partnership with the U.S. Army, the sheriff’s office is guaranteeing a job interview and possibly employment after their service in the Army.
The U.S. Army, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the Shelby County Law Enforcement Personnel Board signed a partnership agreement as part of the Army Pays program.
Deputies call this a win/win.
As they get great law enforcement officers, the soldiers who served our country get a new career.
The program Army Pays is a partnership between the Army, private and government organizations who are seeking employees with skills and a work ethic that military service members bring.
When people sign up to be in the Army, they immediately qualify for this program that guarantees them five job interviews so they can serve their country while also preparing for their future.
