Shapiro cancels weekend events ahead of VP decision; reports [Video]

(WHTM) — Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has canceled fundraising events in New York this weekend and is likely to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris as she works to pick a running mate, according to multiple reports.

According to reporting done by the New York Times, Harris is reportedly planning on meeting with multiple candidates being considered to join the ticket this weekend.

Shapiro was expected to appear at three fundraisers in the Hamptons, however, his press secretary, Manuel Bonder, offered the Associated Press little explanation as to why the ap[appearances were canceled.

“The governor’s trip was planned several weeks ago and included several fundraisers for his own campaign committee,” Bonder said in a statement to the Associated Press. “His schedule has changed and he is no longer traveling to the Hamptons this weekend.”
