LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNOE) – Several current and former physicians at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) were recognized for their research contributions to the medical field.
Avant-garde Health came out with its 2024 Healthcare Research All-Stars list. This list named nine UAMS physicians as Healthcare Research All-Stars, placing the UAMS Hip and Knee Surgery team among the top 1% of hip and knee surgeons nationwide. The UAMS orthopedic surgery team was placed among the top 3% nationwide. The gastrointestinal and general surgery teams were among the top 5% nationwide.
The company evaluated the quality and quantity of research produced by physicians specializing in general surgery, surgical oncology, orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, neurosurgery, cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, gastroenterology, urology, or otolaryngology. 90,000 physicians at 4,000 hospitals were included in the evaluation.
