ISRAEL have allegedly fired on the UNIFIL main base again at their headquarters in Naqoura, Lebanon – injuring two UN peacekeepers.
One soldier is said to be seriously injured following the attack, which is the second such incident in the last 24 hours.
Tanaiste Micheal Martin told media the recent attacks are “reckless and intimidatory”, marking a “very serious intensification” of hostility.
He said: “The International community now need to collectively engage with Israel, put pressure on Israel to desist in this activity, to stop it.
“And to ensure that UN peace keepers are not put in harms way.
“I understand two UN soldiers have been injured, they are not Irish.”
The Tanaiste confirmed the Irish are “all accounted for and well”.
