MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – On Thursday, the American Addiction Recovery Association partnered with U.S. Senator Katie Britt for the Addiction Epidemic Conversation.
The forum was open to the public, and it was comprised of recovery organizations from across the state including:
Katie Britt- United States Senator
Scott Cochran- President, American Addiction Recovery Association, and person in long term recovery
Lisa Bright- Mother, Founder and CEO, Will Bright Foundation
Curt Lindsley- Executive Director, Alabama Alliance for Recovery Residences
Frank Long- Director of Development, The Lovelady Center
Dr. Tres Stefurak- University of South Alabama.
According to the American Addiction Recovery Association, the addiction epidemic is the number one cause for Americans 18-45.
During her time in office, Senator Britt has been vocal about her fight against Alabama’s opioid crisis.
