PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Senator Shelley Moore Capito announced that grant funding has been secured for dozens of West Virginia programs.
One of the many programs that received Human & Health Services funding was Harmony Mental Health here in Parkersburg. Harmony will use the funding they received for the Healthy Tomorrows Partnership for Children Program and the Handle with Care Initiative.
“Essentially what it is is law enforcement, schools and mental health professionals get to work together in unison to make sure they identify and provide access to care for school children specifically,” said Director of Marketing and Communications Mustafa Farah.
Farah added that this funding will allow everyone to see how well the program works. They have spent time making and developing the program, and now they will dig deep to make it stronger for the children it will impact.
