MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Today (October 7) United States Senator Bill Cassidy hosted a Rural Community Funding Summit with the Louisiana Municipal Association at the Clarke M. Williams Innovation Campus.
Officials from West Monroe, Monroe, Richwood, Morehouse Parish, and others were in attendance along with departments such as Homeland Security, Delta Regional Authority, and more.
Senator Cassidy says over nine million dollars has been distributed to Louisiana for projects through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill. He says funding is not restricted to large rural areas. Caldwell Parish and Madison Parish have received millions in funding through the bill.
“Now the state helps split up that money. The federal government gives it to the state, and the state splits it up. There are some programs the community can apply for directly. This is constructed so that your community, however big, however small, will be able to access these dollars,” says United States …
