CHICAGO, IL — At the Democratic National Convention, U.S. Sen. Gary Peters is scheduled to join a lineup of top Democrats planning to rally support for Vice President Kamala Harris’ bid for the presidency.
The Bloomfield Township Democrat is expected to address the convention crowd at the Chicago-based United Center on Tuesday, Aug. 20, Harris campaign officials stated.
The week-long Democratic National Convention kicked off one day earlier. Among the featured speakers Monday, Aug. 19, were President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The first-day lineup also included a notable figure in Michigan labor: Shawn Fain, the United Auto Workers president who railed against former President Donald Trump while championing the Republican’s opponent, Harris.
