Selkirk Fire Rescue & EMS responds to Bonner County EMS financial woes [Video]

BONNER COUNTY, Idaho – Selkirk Fire & Rescue responded to Bonner County EMS funding issues Tuesday.

Bonner County’s Board of Commissioners passed a resolution for the county to apply for a $2 million tax anticipation loan to keep Emergency Management Services running amidst budgeting issues.

Selkirk Fire & Rescue responded Tuesday, promising that it will step in to provide ambulance services if needed but expressed support for keeping up EMS staffing.

“I hope the County will explore all options to keep our communities protected and not reduce staffing,” Fire Chief Jeff Armstrong said.

While Selkirk Fire & Rescue and Bonner County EMS have separate funding sources, cuts to EMS could impact emergency response situations also involving the fire department.
