Selena Gomez has revealed that she cannot ‘carry her own children’ due to medical issues.
The Only Murders In The Building star was diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and underwent a kidney transplant four years later.
The 32-year-old previously revealed that she had planned to start a family on her own if she was still single at the age of 35, and had considered adoption – before her relationship with boyfriend Benny Blanco came along.
In a candid new interview, she shared that she is unable to get pregnant herself as a result of medical complications, explaining that her baby’s life would be put ‘in jeopardy’ if she was to carry her child.
‘I haven’t ever said this,’ the Lose You To Love Me singer told Vanity Fair. ‘I unfortunately can’t carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.’
