ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAW) – On Saturday, an annual event in Rothschild is shed light on all the mental health resources available in central Wisconsin.
Understanding mental health took on a whole new meaning at the ‘Through a New Lens event.’ Attendees could play emotionally connecting games, meet local law enforcement or even taking home stimulating prizes.
For the past two years, organizations offering mental health resources across Marathon County have come together to help bring awareness to the cause. This idea came together based on the cold, dreary winters Wisconsin can have.
“This is a time of year when people get kind of locked into their homes. We know the holidays can be stressful, so we thought (this time of year) was a great opportunity just bring people together. (This can) let them see some of the resources in the community,” Marathon County Sheriff Chad Billeb said.
