Any hope for a last-minute deal that would’ve kept Scripps Health in-network for Anthem members fell through on New Year’s Day.
SAN DIEGO — After many months of negotiations, Scripps Health and Anthem Blue Cross are parting ways for 2025, potentially affecting more than 100,000 San Diego patients.
Any hope for a last-minute deal that would’ve kept Scripps Health in-network for Anthem members fell through on New Year’s Day.
“It’s stressful and also I’m really mad,” said Anthem member Rhonda Guaderrama. “It feels uncertain in that we need to start over with everything.”
Guaderrama has been a Scripps patient for 12 years. She told CBS 8 that she has always received excellent care.
“I trust Scripps. I trust my doctors there,” she said. “We would have to pay out-of-pocket, so I don’t even know how much that is or what that would look like.”
