COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Scott Appelman, top organizer of Labor Day Lift Off in Colorado Springs, passed away on Thursday.
At 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, Rainbow Ryders announced his passing in a press release.
Appelman was 66 years old.
He founded Rainbow Ryders hot air balloon company in 1983 and became a leader in the hot air balloon industry. Appelman worked with Rainbow Ryders for 41 years, earning well-deserved awards for his cherished company.
“He was not just the driving force behind Rainbow Ryders’ success but also a cherished mentor, colleague, and friend to many,” said Rainbow Ryders.
Appelman’s ties to Colorado Springs ran deep as co-producer and top organizer of Labor Day Lift Off for nine years.
