The scooter rider hit their head on pavement and had seizures after colliding with the vehicle turning into the Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center parking lot.
TOLEDO, Ohio — A person riding a scooter was hospitalized early Monday evening after they collided with a vehicle outside of the Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, according to the Toledo Police Department.
A press release from TPD states a 65-year-old was driving a vehicle southbound on Cherry Street and turned into the medical center’s parking lot around 5:15 p.m.
The 25-year-old was riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk in the same direction and struck the vehicle, fell and hit their head on the sidewalk and had uncontrollable seizures, according to police. Their condition is not known at this time.
The incident is under investigation.
