SC mother spreads Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness in Lowcountry [Video]

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A South Carolina fentanyl poisoning advocate group makes efforts to spread awareness throughout the Lowcountry.

Fentanyl Kills U, FKU, is a York County-based organization educating South Carolina communities on the dangers and threats of fentanyl-laced drugs.

Co-founder, Holly Alsobrooks, lost her 25-year-old son to fentanyl poisoning in 2020. Years later, she’s now involved with schools in her area and other support groups for those who have experienced this kind of loss.

“Parents have to talk to their kids, I don’t care if you don’t think your kids are doing it. And not just one time, you have to have this conversation over and over and over. And they need to be scared, because the kids think it’s not going to happen to them either,” Alsobrooks said.
