Ashley Nevison is doing her part to help homeless veterans from coast to coast.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development finds there are more than 32,000 homeless veterans nationwide.
To help them out, a Louisville student is making her mission to provide hundreds of warm outerwear kits to homeless veterans from coast to coast through her organization, Sargeant’s Army.
Ashley Nevison, 17, and a tram of volunteers from the community worked to prepare the kits.
The kits include outerwear like a jacket, scarf, as well as hygiene bags and a thank you card.
The organization said they hope to donate 800 outerwear kits to veterans in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
