San Diego fire chief confirms city’s readiness for wildfires [Video]

SAN DIEGO — Is San Diego ready to fight a wildfire? 

That’s the question San Diego’s Fire and Rescue Department had to answer before The San Diego City Council’s Public Safety Committee meeting.

Both Mayor Todd Gloria and Fire Chief Robert Logan were confident that San Diego’s fire response is ready at a moment’s notice.

Over the last 48 hours, SDFD was upstaffed for this week’s fire event with two fires that were threatening businesses and homes. The Friars Fire and the Bernardo Fire were quickly tackled.
