Salvation Army of Longview honors volunteers at luncheon [Video]

The nonprofit acknowledged they’ve had a trying year, but thanks for the continued community support they were able to accomplish their mission.

LONGVIEW, Texas — The Salvation Army of Longview took time out Wednesday to recognize those doing the most good.

The nonprofit held their second annual luncheon to thank their volunteers and to recognize their accomplishments. The army, which serves residents of Gregg and Harrison counties, acknowledged they’ve had a trying year, but thanks for the continued community support they were able to accomplish their mission.

“We saw that as we would fill our food pantry it would empty as soon as we could fill it. Our shelter is pretty much at max capacity at the current time,” Salvation Army of Longview Capt.
