Salvation Army in Rochester looking for bell ringers to help support the community | News [Video]

KIMT News Three’s Saral Khare spoke with the nonprofit on how many hours need to be filled before the start of the Christmas Campaign.

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Salvation Army is looking for volunteers for their 2024 Red Kettle Season. From Nov.8-Dec.24 volunteers can ring bells in 22 locations around Olmsted County to get donations. In 2023 the campaign raised $451,415.78. 

They says the campaign makes up about a third of their fundraising budget. It goes towards services such as: Hot Meals, Housing and Rent Assistance. Major Candace Voeller says she’s thankful for all the volunteers who help. 

“It expresses the heart of a community when individuals and businesses and corporations and churches get involved,” said Voeller. “Because we know when we see our brothers and sisters struggling we need to help support and care.” 

They’re looking for 8,000 volunteer hours and already have around 1,100 hours signed up. For anyone …
