Last week, a sailor assigned to Naval Weapons Station Yorktown was charged in connection to the death of a fellow sailor which happened earlier this year.
NORFOLK, Va. — The U.S. Navy has charged a sailor in the death of another sailor.
According to a press release from the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic (NRMA) Public Affairs Office, Master-at-Arms Third Class Lyndon Joel Cosgriff-Flax was killed on April 28 earlier this year during a boating incident, involving one of the installations of harbor security boats on the York River.
An unnamed sailor has been charged by the Navy in connection with the incident. Those charges include negligent homicide in the death of Cosgriff-Flax, making a false official statement, and two counts of dereliction of duty.
