Safety, community engagement top of mind during National Night Out in Edgehill [Video]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro Nashville police with the help of the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency are trying to make Edgehill safer — they held their annual National Night Out event but people said this year was a little different.

“It’s been so great,” Andrea Gant said.

National Night Out Against Crime is an annual event Gant said looked a lot different this year, she said this year they seemed to focus a lot more on fun, food, and directly sharing resources like packed backpacks for kids.

“There are so many brilliant programs that they have,” Gant said.

Local organizations also had booths set up to give away clothes, health resources and information on youth programs but, the event wasn’t just about fun, games and resources.
