RUSTON, La. (KNOE) – The Crowdstrike worldwide outage was felt not only around the world but also in parts of the ArkLaMiss.
“Work with your IT personnel or your management provider. If you don’t have cybersecurity protection like CrowdStrike or one of the other vendors, I would seriously look into that,” says Brent Causey, owner of Delta Cyber in Ruston.
Causey says the update error early Friday from cybersecurity vendor Crowdstrike impacted those who have the product Falcon on their devices.
“That particular product had a patch that went wrong; a bad update that was pushed out to computers all over the world last night. It essentially rebooted the computers and disabled them from starting back up correctly,” says Causey.
Causey explains what kind of devices were affected besides desktop computers.
“That could be tablets, laptops, anything like airport displays,” says Causey.
