RSU 14 Assistant Superintendent Christine Frost-Bertinet has been named Maine’s 2025 Assistant Superintendent of the Year. The award is presented annually by the Maine School Superintendents Association, along with a Superintendent of the Year.
RSU 14 covers the Sebago Lakes-area communities of Windham and Raymond, 20 miles west of Portland. The district includes six schools, 750 staff members and more than 3,000 students. Frost-Bertinet has been RSU 14’s assistant superintendent since 2019.
In that time, she has implemented a pre-K program, overseen the allocation of millions in pandemic relief funds and been an important part of the district’s strategic planning and equity team, according to a statement from MSSA.
RSU 14 Superintendent Chris Howell also praised Frost-Bertinet’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and focus on community development.
“Her problem-solving skills and dedication to optimizing processes for the benefit of students and staff further underscore her exceptional qualifications for this recognition,” Howell said.
