Rose-Hulman students participate in Day of Service | News [Video]

Over 30 students from the college spent the day serving at Senior Education Ministries.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.(WTHI) – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology students got their hands dirty for the fall day of service Saturday.

It’s the university’s annual volunteer day.

Over 30 students from Rose-Hulman were at Senior Education Ministries this afternoon.

Some students were painting the ministry classroom and bathrooms. Others were picking up debris, tree limbs and pulling weeds around the property.

“It’s really going to be our home for the next four years so if you want to get involved with the community and also like if you have the ability to help, I feel like you have the obligation to use your abilities to help other people,” said Freshman Alex Carpenter.

Carpenter shared the ministry was only expecting eight students, so 30 was a pleasant surprise.
