TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. — The Town of Tonawanda is alerting its residents that due to a late shipment of road salt, they are cutting back on their usage until they receive their order.
According to a post made by the Town’s Facebook page their order was due to be delivered last week, but they have not received it yet.
Due to the shortage, the town highway department will only be salting the main roads, every intersection and stop sign locations until further notice.
They say they are not the only municipality that is without salt. Other towns have contacted them looking to see if they could supply them as well.
They are urging residents to be cautious driving on all streets in the Town of Tonawanda.
