Rochester students learn more about P-TECH program | News [Video]

ROCHESTER, Minn. – RPS’ P-TECH program gives students the chance to enroll in a nursing or IT pathway to start their career development in high school. On Nov. 20, 8th graders had the opportunity to learn more about it. 

This is a public and private partnership between IBM, Mayo Clinic, and RCTC. It gives students the opportunity to earn both their high school diploma as well as a diploma in Practical Nursing or an Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology.

P-TECH school leader, Kari Kolling Anderson says, “the program model for P-TECH was designed to attract students who would potentially be the first in their family to go to college or who might have seen other barriers to start this early college experience.
