ROCHESTER, Minn.-AAA expects Labor Day travel to be up by 9 percent in 2024 and travel costs to be down by 2 percent.
The latest projections from GasBuddy anticipate the price of gas for commuters to fall to around $3.27 on Labor Day weekend.
Rochester International Airport says it’s prepared for the increase in air travel on the weekend due to an uptick in summer travel that is 23 percent higher than previous years.
To make sure passengers get to their flights on time, Mary Gastner, Marketing and Communications Manager for the airport, recommends they arrive 90 minutes early to get through security and to the right gate on time.
As the seasons start to change, Gastner says the airport usually see a change in the destinations holiday travelers choose.
