Roadwork to begin on Highway 93 between Missoula and Lolo in July [Video]

MISSOULA, Mont. – Resurfacing roadwork on U.S. Highway 93 between Missoula and Lolo is scheduled to begin in July.

The project is expected to be completed by October, and its purpose is to ensure safety, accessibility and transportation infrastructure on the roadway.

A release from Big Sky Public Relations, on behalf of Montana Department of Transportation, said workers will:

Adjust left-turn lanes near LoloUpdate guardrailsSeal the shared-use pathAdd new pavement markingsAdd shoulder rumble stripsAdd high-friction surface treatment

Construction will take place at night between 6:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. to keep traffic flowing in the daytime.

There will be one lane open to traffic and slower speeds in the work area.

There will be recurring closures on roads connected to U.S. Highway 93–residents will be informed and drivers will be detoured.
